Bruno Fernandes issues apology to new Man Utd signing Nathan Bishop

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has apologised to team-mate Nathan Bishop after lobbing him in tranining.

The Red Devils are preparing for the Premier League's return where they will tackle Tottenham on June 19.

Fernandes was in top form before the season was postponed due to the coronavirus, but he has picked up where he left off.

The Portuguese star left Bishop planted as he lofted the ball over him before it hit the back of the net.

He quickly took to Instagram and simply posted the caption: "Sorry @nathanbishop30".

Fernandes will be crucial to United's hopes of securing a place in next season's Champions League.

They can achieve that be either usurping fourth-placed Chelsea or winning the Europa League.

The former Sporting Lisbon man admits he is living his dream at Old Trafford, but found the move to Manchester a daunting one.

"You know, I will say the truth that I was scared," he said on Instagram Live.

"It was a dream [come true] but it was a big dream. For me, playing in England and for Manchester [United] was the highest part of my career. To play in the Premier League, for one of the best teams in the world.

"When I received the call saying: ‘Bruno, you have the chance of moving to Manchester’ I called my wife, my brother, my sister, my mother and just started crying.

"But I was crying through happiness. I fought all my life for this, for this top club. The chance was here and I needed to take it with both hands, to follow my dream.

"My family knew since the beginning [of my life] that I wanted to be a footballer, they knew my big dream was to be in the Premier League and to play for Manchester."
