Bruno Fernandes helps Manchester United come to a decision on Paul Pogba

Bruno Fernandes has helped Manchester United come to a decision on Paul Pogba, according to reports from Italy.

Pogba's agent Mino Raiola dropped the bombshell news that the World Cup winner wants to leave Man United on the eve of their Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.

The Frenchman was subsequently named on the bench in Germany, but came on for United on the hour mark, with the Red Devils trailing two goals to nil.

With 20 minutes to go Leipzig made it three before United mounted a brief comeback, netting from the penalty spot through Fernandes and then via open-play, with Pogba very much involved in the effort ruled an own goal.

But it was too little too late for United, who crashed out of the competition.

Pogba, who is yet to comment on his agent's announcement, played well for the Red Devils in Germany, but his fate is still far from sealed.

According to Calciomercato, United have come to the decision that they no longer need Pogba as they have Fernandes in the middle.

When Pogba's was injured there was this notion the Frenchman would return to fitness and lead United to greatness alongside the Portuguese.

But this hasn't happened. Instead, Fernandes has lead the team on his own.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is also reportedly willing to get Pogba off United's wage bill, which will free up around £290,000 per week for a new signing.

Raiola claimed the 27-year-old midfielder is unhappy at Old Trafford, adding it would be best for all parties if Pogba is sold in January.

He even suggested Juventus as his next possible destination.
