Bruno Fernandes has set a new Premier League record at Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes set a new Premier League record in Manchester United's 3-1 victory over Everton on the weekend.

The Portuguese netted a brace and bagged an assist as the Red Devils came from behind to beat Carlo Ancelotti's Toffees and ease the pressure on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amid reports his job is under threat.

Fernandes has now had a hand in a whopping 15 Premier League goals in his first 10 away matches in the top flight - more than any other player in the same amount of away games before him.

Ten of these have been goals he has scored personally, with five coming by way of assist.

But despite Fernandes doing his bit for United, and writing his name in the record books at the same time, his boss still wants to see more from him.

Speaking after the win, Solskjaer said of Fernandes: "Great performance. Of course leading the boys, there's desire and determination. He's everywhere on the pitch!

"Sometimes that frustrates me, because sometimes there's passes being played where he should have been and he's not there.

"But you know when you've got someone who drives them on like this, of course you're very happy."

United captain Harry Maguire was a little more complimentary though.

"Bruno was excellent today," Maguire said. "He came under a little bit of stick on Wednesday night. But he's a big character, he's a big leader, and he's reacted brilliantly. And that's only what he does.

"He does his talking on the pitch and I'm delighted that he's got a couple of goals – or whatever you want to call it, a goal and an assist. But he was brilliant out there and helped us get the victory."
