Bruno Fernandes explains how Mason Greenwood can improve at Manchester United

Bruno Fernandes believes Mason Greenwood still has some physical development to do, but tipped the Manchester United youngster to keep improving.

Both Fernandes and Greenwood have been the breakthrough stars of United's season, emerging after January to play key roles for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side.

Greenwood, 18, has scored 17 senior goals since winning a spot in Solskjaer's team midway through the campaign and he's been helped by Fernandes, whose January arrival sparked United into an upturn in form.

And the Portuguese playmaker told the Press Association why the teenage forward will only get better.

"I think Mason has done a great season, of course," Fernandes said. "He's young and he has great numbers this season. The age is just a number and you see Mason has done very well.

"He can do much more because of the qualities he has and he still has to grow up physically. He did fantastically this season and he will get better."

Fernandes added that United's senior players and coaches will be key to Greenwood's continued development, adding: "He needs to play more and get more confidence from his team-mates and the staff and I think he will get much better because he has that quality."

Both Fernandes and Greenwood are expected to start United's Europa League semi-final against Sevilla on Sunday night.

Fernandes has enjoyed a profitable tournament, first for Sporting Lisbon and then for United, netting seven goals and laying on four assists in total.
