Bruno Fernandes has called on his Manchester United team-mates to "fight for our goal" in the Premier League after Sunday night's FA Cup disappointment.
The Red Devils have been impressive of late but were battered 3-1 by Frank Lampard's Chelsea in the semi-final of the world's oldest cup competition.
The defeat means United can no longer qualify for European football via a domestic cup competition, and must now finish strongly in the league to achieve their season goals.
Fernandes, who suffered his first defeat in Manchester United colours against the Blues are Wembley, has issued a rallying cry.
"We were not the best before and we are not the worst now," said Fernandes.
"We are really sad about the result and losing the chance to win the FA Cup, something we had hoped for.
"Now it is time to gather forces and fight for our goal in the Premier League."
United are currently fifth in the Premier League with two games left to play - one more than fourth-place Leicester City on the same points.
The Red Devils' final two fixtures are against West Ham and the Foxes, meaning the club's Champions League destiny is in their own hands.
Manchester United are also still competitive in the Europa League, and could qualify for the Champions League by winning the tournament.
