Bruno Fernandes is expected to fly in and complete his move to Manchester United today.
United reached a breakthrough in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon on Tuesday night – agreeing an upfront fee of 55m euros.
The Portugal international is still to agree personal terms and undergo a medical – but neither are expected to be an issue.
He is due to fly to Manchester and head straight to United’s Carrington training base to conclude the formalities of a four-and-a-half year deal with the option of a further 12 months.
United will pay a further €10m based on appearances and Champions League qualification.
An extra €15m will be dependent on clauses including Fernandes winning the Ballon d’Or.
United were always adamant they would not meet Sporting’s valuation of £55m plus £13m in add-ons.
