Bruno Fernandes equals Cristiano Ronaldo feat for Manchester United

Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes has equalled a feat last achieved by compariot Cristiano Ronaldo.

Fernandes scored and provided an assist as United drew 2-2 with Leicester City in their Boxing Day clash at the King Power Stadium.

His 79th-minute strike against Leicester took him to 10 Premier League goals for the season.

In doing so, he becomes the first Portuguese player to reach double figures in England's top flight since Ronaldo did so during his time with United (as per talkSPORT ).

Ronaldo left Old Trafford in 2009 to sign for Real Madrid and has since moved on to Juventus. He has now won the Ballon d'Or five times.

Fernandes is United's latest star from Portugal and has made a huge impact since joining the club from Sporting Lisbon in January.

The attacking midfielder has now been directly involved in 31 goals for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, including assists.

According to talkSPORT, that puts him one ahead of Ronaldo (since Fernandes made his United debut), with only Barcelona's Lionel Messi (34) and Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski (35) ahead of him in Europe's top five leagues.

Against Leicester, Fernandes set up Marcus Rashford to score the 23rd-minute opener - his 50th Premier League goal.

However, Harvey Barnes levelled for the Foxes just after the half-hour mark.

It looked like Fernandes may have won it for the visitors, only for Jamie Vardy's effort to deflect in off Axel Tuanzebe five minutes from time.
