Bruno Fernandes drives off in strop over fan's Mo Salah comments after Man Utd win

Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes was brought down to earth with a bump after an Arsenal fan said they had selected Liverpool star Mohamed Salah over him in their fantasy football team.

Fernandes was was driving home after United’s 3-2 victory against Mikel Arteta’s side when he encountered the Gunners fans in the car adjacent to him.

After pulling up alongside the Portuguese maestro at a set of red traffic lights, the supporters immediately sought his attention.

At the time, the creative midfielder would have been in a very happy mood having played a key role in what proved to be Michael Carrick’ s final victory as caretaker manager.

However, his jovial mood took a very minor knock, as he was informed by the enthusiastic Gunners faithful that they had snubbed him for Salah in their fantasy teams.

The amusing exchange between Fernandes and the Gunners’ supporters depicted the Portuguese star at the wheel of his motor, while a small cohort of excited Arsenal fans pull up alongside him.

After serenading him with chants of “Bruno, Bruno,” a member of the group shouted “I don’t have you in fantasy!"

Fernandes then asked the supporter who he had instead, and the fan said: “Mohamed Salah all the way man, I’m sorry he takes up all my money.”

The Portuguese maestro then gasped in disappointment and sped off into the streetlight horizon while the Arsenal fans justified, “You saw him yesterday, you saw him yesterday”.

Fortunately, this snub would not have phased the former Sporting Lison ace who would have been on cloud nine during his journey home.

Fernandes slotted home United’s first goal against Mikel Arteta’s side, to level the contest and crank up the noise levels at Old Trafford.

It was his first Premier League goal since September when he smashed home a thunderbolt during the dominant 4-1 home victory against Newcastle United.

Furthermore, his cool finish was also the perfect way to celebrate his 100th appearance as a Manchester United player.

“Really happy to celebrate my 100th appearance for this club with a win and with our fans,” he tweeted after the victory over the Gunners.

“Hopefully, many more games to come. Also wanted to say thank you to Michael Carrick, a great Manchester United legend.”

He has been a revelation at Old Trafford since signing for the club for £47m in the 2020 January transfer window.

After hammering home eight Premier League goals in his first fourteen appearances that half season, he recorded 18 goals and 13 assists in what was his first full campaign for the club last season.

Despite the fact almost three months had passed since his last Premier League goal, Fernandes had still racked up an impressive five goals and three assists this season.

And with Ralf Rangnick soon to takeover the reins, United fans will be hoping Fernandes has opened his goalscoring floodgates.

The former RB Leipzig manager will take charge of his first match at the Theatre of Dreams when the Red Devils play host to Crystal Palace.
