Bruno Fernandes details Man Utd's mistakes as he opens up on worries at the club

Bruno Fernandes has slammed his own Manchester United side after a poor draw against Everton as the Portuguese star opened up on his worries for the club.

United slumped to a poor 1-1 draw against Everton despite going ahead in the first half.

The result continues a string of uninspired performances from the Red Devils, which has increased pressure on the club and boss.

After a successful transfer window bringing in a number of star players, United set themselves up to be challenging for the title but have been unconvincing on the field so far.

Speaking to the BBC after the latest disappointing result, Fernandes detailed two mistakes United made as he opened up on his worries that the team might not be good enough to win silverware.

The Portuguese star laid into his club for conceding in the way that they did, and not creating enough chances throughout the game.

He said: “We should win this game. We should create more chances.

“We should not concede that kind of goal. It’s not the first time and we have to look at our mistakes and see what we can do.

“We don’t look at the league table at this moment but of course we should have more points. We drop points at home and we should not do that.

“These last two games at home was not good enough in the Premier League.

“If we want silverware at the end of the season we have to do much better.”

The attacker's comments come after a number of disappointing performances in the league, cup and in Europe.

United have relied upon last-gasp goals to secure wins in games that, with a squad of their quality, they should be winning more comfortably.

As well as crashing out of the Carabao Cup, the Red Devils lost their first Champions League group game too.

Their poor form has earned them an unwanted 50-year record of conceding in every one of their last nine league home games.

In the clash against the Toffees, United went ahead thanks to a 43rd-minute header from Anthony Martial.

The attacker was given a rare start on the left wing after a worrying run of form in recent months.

However, Andros Townsend pulled one back for Everton in the 65th minute and then even imitated Cristiano Ronaldo’s infamous celebration afterwards.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer echoed Fernades’ own complaints and pointed towards United’s vulnerability in transition as a weakness of the team.

The manager said: "They break and counter-attack and outmuscled so we should’ve cleared it but that's in every game in the Premier League, you can work every day on system and defending but it has to be dealt with there and then.”

He added: "They counter-attacked that was the same Wednesday night [vs Villarreal].

"We have to be better when to risk it how not to be counter-attacked that’s a key lesson today because they do create big chances from quick breaks.”
