Bruno Fernandes describes how Marcus Rashford has 'surprised' him since Manchester United arrival

Bruno Fernandes has admitted Marcus Rashford has 'surprised' him with his qualities since his arrival at Manchester United.

Fernandes has been one of the standout stars in the Premier League since he arrived at Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon back in January.

The goals have been flowing for United recently, with them hitting 16 in their last five games and 48 in their 18 unbeaten fixtures

A central part of that has been Rashford, who has scored 21 times in 38 appearances so far this season.

And Fernandes, when picking his perfect player using different attributes from different players, admitted he has been taken aback by Rashford, who he described as one of the best in the world.

“I will choose Rashford because I think what Rashford does with amazing pace with amazing quality you know,” he told BT Sport when asked to pick a player based on pace.

“It is difficult sometimes to do the right things. The right time to shoot, pass, the skill and I will choose Rashford for sure.

“He has surprised me a lot. I already knew his qualities because he is one of the best young players in the world.

“This is one of the best qualities he has.”

Fernandes went on to select Cristiano Ronaldo as the most skilful, Gianluigi Buffon for having the best leadership skills, N'Golo Kante for work rate and Eintracht Frankfurt's Bast Dos for finishing ability.
