Bruno Fernandes has delivered a promise to Manchester United fans in the aftermath of a disappointing 1-1 draw against Southampton.
Having cruised to an eye-catching opening day victory, Fernandes and co produced an under-par performance as they were held by the Saints at St Mary's Stadium yesterday afternoon.
Despite their overall display, though, United showed battling qualities to hit back from a goal down.
Indeed, after Brazilian midfielder Fred turned into his own net on the half-hour mark - leading to him being teased by would-be goalscorer Che Adams - United claimed a point when Mason Greenwood recorded his second goal in as many games, courtesy of another Paul Pogba assist.
Next up for United is a trip to Wolves on Sunday afternoon (4.30pm) - and Portuguese sensation Fernandes wants to pay back supporters after a frustrating trip to the south coast.
Addressing his 1.8million followers on social media platform Twitter after the match, Fernandes said: "Disappointing result today. We will react next weekend. Thank you to all the fans for the amazing support."
The post has already been liked by 44,300 supporters and was followed up by similar messages from Pogba and his other United teammates.
Fernandes signed for the Premier League giants for £57million from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020.
Since then, the 26-year-old has scored 43 goals and laid on 25 assists over 82 games in all competitions - in addition to winning four player of the month awards.
He started this season in blistering fashion, too, with a superb hat-trick against bitter rivals Leeds United.
