Bruno Fernandes has made a spirited defence of the job Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing at Manchester United, saying that the players also share responsibility for the team's poor form.
It's been a difficult few weeks for Solskjaer as he came perilously close to losing his job after United were handed an embarrassing 5-0 drubbing by fierce rivals, Liverpool.
His side responded well the following weekend as they bounced back with a 3-0 victory over Tottenham, but some of the same old problems were once again present on Tuesday as only a late wonder-strike Cristiano Ronaldo saved them from a defeat at Atalanta in the Champions League.
The pressure is still very much on Solskjaer, especially as United face Manchester City in a derby that could have big ramifications on the Premier League title race — and for the Norwegian's job.
And while Solskjaer's job still hangs in the balance, United tasliamn Fernandes has moved to defend his manager and believes he is still doing a good job in the role.
"He's a great, great person and I think everyone knows the human part of him," he told Sky Sports.
"I think it's normal people get upset because the results don't come but it's too easy to blame it on the coach, we go on the pitch we should do better.
"With the second place last season no one was expecting us to do a really good season like we did. It was not as good as we want but it was a good season after all after everything what everyone was thinking.
"No one was expecting us [to finish second], okay top four probably, but not second place and be the most close one to fight with City.
"For me, overall he's doing a really good job and it's been a big improvement on the team since he arrived.
"We're still dropping points at home and it's not good enough, and we know that, but it's not only the coach's fault."
