Bruno Fernandes compared to Kevin De Bruyne after Manchester United Europa League win

Former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has likened Bruno Fernandes to Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne following the club's victory in the Europa League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side endured a hard-fought match against FC Copenhagen in Cologne, with the Danish side taking the match to extra time.

Anthony Martial was felled for a penalty in the first period of extra time, which Fernandes then smashed into the net to send United into the semi-finals of the competition.

While it was Fernandes' match-winning goal that will grab the headlines, Hargreaves focused on the overall impact he has on the team and likened his creativity to that of De Bruyne.

“If you’re hating on him, then you should go and watch a different sport," he told BT Sport.

" I don’t think I’ve seen a player, other than Kevin De Bruyne, create as many opportunities in a game of football than him.

"All of the United players, as good as they are, they look to him. They get the ball to his feet."
