Bruno Fernandes breaks silence on Premier League transfer amid Man Utd rumours

Sporting Lisbon star Bruno Fernandes reckons he is ready for a move to the Premier League amid reported interest from Manchester United .

The 24-year-old has bagged 28 goals this campaign across all competitions and has been dubbed the Portuguese Frank Lampard after breaking the Chelsea star's record for goals from midfield.

He has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prepares for a summer rebuilding job.

Fernandes has revealed he turned down the chance to leave Portugal last summer with offers from both the Premier League and La Liga.

But he has now declared himself ready to take the leap in the summer after a magnificent campaign.

“Last year, after the termination, I received approaches, mainly from England and also from Spain, but I did not feel prepared to go." Fernandes told Sport TV (via Record).

“Not because of difficulty, but for the high number of games in England.

“My debut season at Sporting was the first time I played so many games, I thought I needed one more with that regularity. Now I feel prepared for this requirement, if I ever have to play in England or a team in Spain.”

Sporting Lisbon view Fernandes as one of their prized assets, slapping a €100m release clause in his contract that was downplayed by the player.

He added: “No player in the world should be worth that price. But it’s a cause of pride to know that Sporting have this confidence in me.”

Reports have suggested United representatives have already held talks over a move for Fernandes, whilst Benfica duo Joao Felix and Ruben Dias are also on their radar from Portugual.
