Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial have developed a fine on-field relationship for Manchester United and it appears the pair get along very well off the pitch.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted the pair have "hit it off" on the training ground since Fernandes' January arrival from Sporting Lisbon. That was in evidence when Martial latched onto Fernandes' quick-thinking chip to give United a first half lead over Man City at Old Trafford.
And Fernandes could not help but joke at Martial's expense, posting on Instagram after United's 2-0 Manchester derby victory.
He wrote: "Manchester is red" before adding: "Finally you scored with my assist @martial_9."
Martial replied by commenting "ahaha" and a laughing emoji — but was more amicable on his own Instagram page, saying: "my bro thanks for the assist", with Fernandes replying: "you welcome bro".
It's not the first time the pair have exchanged messages on social media. Fernandes has previously told Martial: "Next time I pass to you, try to not to miss it", with Martial replying "give me a better pass".
It's all in jest and Martial and Fernandes appear to be a lethal combination in attack for Solskjaer's side. The Norwegian will be desperate for their chemistry to continue.
"Anthony and Bruno have hit it off," Solskjaer told Sky Sports after the game on Sunday.
"It is a privilege to be a manager of a squad with this attitude. You can't ask for more. They are going to improve as players as well.
"Those little things will come but it is a privilege, and they want to listen to advice. For our players to beat a team like Manchester City is fantastic, I am delighted for them."
