Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial exchange shows Man Utd duo's growing relationship

Bruno Fernandes and Anthony Martial's close bond is growing increasingly evident after the duo's latest social media exchange.

United's new signing Fernandes is settling in quickly to life at Old Trafford, and is already forging a good relationship with teammate Martial.

The Portuguese star supplied his first assist for the club in the win over Chelsea on Monday, after Martial had already headed United in front.

But there has been no shortage of banter between the pair since the victory, which can only be good news for United.

Fernandes posted a picture of the pair to his Instagram story, tagging Martial along with the message: "Finally a header, just close your eyes every time."

Martial was quick to respond, saying: "I score because it was not your pass," followed by a cry laughing emoji.

But Fernandes was equally as quick-witted, replying in jokey fashion: "Next time I pass to you, try to not to miss it," accompanied by an angry swearing emoji.

The pair got to know each other better during United's winter break trip to the Costa del Sol for a warm-weather training camp last week, and fans will hope their relationship continues to flourish.

Fernandes has been getting close to a number of his new teammates, most notably his fellow Portuguese compatriot Diogo Dalot and Spanish pair David de Gea and Juan Mata.

The former Sporting Lisbon star even treated the trio to a slap-up meal at Manchester restaurant Tapeo & Wine on Saturday as a thank you for helping him settle in.

He was pivotal in United's important win over top four rivals Chelsea, and described his recent fortunes as a "dream come true".

"I feel great," Fernandes said after the match. "I'm really happy. It's a very difficult game against a team like Chelsea and we needed to win to keep forward in this way and winning games.

"I think we can do much better with the ball but it was a good game against a good team we but did our game and won.

"I feel good that I'm playing for the biggest club in England and I'm really happy. It's a dream come true."
