Bruno Fernandes a shock injury concern for Sunday as Glazers look to expand their empire

Welcome to the United On My Mind daily-round up, where we take a look at some of the best Manchester United stories which you might have missed.

Being a club the size of Manchester United, the stories are never too far away!

Beginning with some concerning news, as it’s being reported star midfielder Bruno Fernandes has picked up a knock, making him a major doubt for Sunday’s big match with Liverpool.

The Glazer family are interested in acquiring an Indian Premier League cricket team for approximately £300m. I wonder where they got that money from?

And finally, Donny van de Beek’s future takes a step closer to the exit door as reports suggest he’s likely to leave United.

Fernandes fear

Fernandes has been instrumental the moment he walked through the Manchester United doors and has become one of the only players in the team that manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will refuse to drop.

However, Solskjaer may have no choice, as The Sun has reported that the Portuguese playmaker is a serious doubt for United’s all-important clash against rivals Liverpool on Sunday. The report suggests he picked up a knock in training which had left him limping heavily off of the training field.

A huge blow for United if this is the case and could be a deciding factor on the outcome of Sunday’s game.

Glazers geared up to grow

The Glazer family have never been too far away from a headline or two, and today is no different. The Mail has reported the owners of Manchester United are considering the possibility of purchasing a £300m Indian Premier League cricket team.

The IPL will go from eight teams to ten which leaves two vacancies to fill. The IPL’s revenue would shock a lot of people as it’s one of the highest-grossing sports there is, which explains why the Glazers will be so interested.

The Glazers have recently sold over £100m worth of Manchester United shares and with the recent interest shown in the IPL, many United fans will hope this is a sign the Glazer tenure is coming to an end.

Donny van de Bye

Despite Bruno Fernandes potentially being a doubt for Sunday’s match, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Donny van de Beek was still not selected to play. A huge shame considering the talent he has. With a lack of minutes, to say the least, van de Beek has also seen himself exit the Holland international team. A player still with so much potential, rotting away on United’s bench.

His situation makes it no surprise he is incredibly likely to leave the club. Fabrizio Romano has reported that although his former club Ajax are yet to show any interest, there is a huge chance van de Beek could leave United in January.

Despite it not coming as a shock, it does bring incredible shame to know van de Beek was never given a proper opportunity to showcase his talents by the manager who signed him in the first place.
