Bruins fans couldn’t believe refs missed obvious call before key Blues goal in Game 5

The refs have had a dreadful run in the NHL playoffs and that continued in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final in Boston on Thursday night as they missed an obvious tripping call right before the St. Louis Blues scored to make it 2-0 midway through the third period.

Blues forward Tyler Bozak tripped Bruins forward Noel Acciari from behind in the Bruins’ zone. He even quickly turned to look at the refs and held a hand up in the air in what was the most guilty look you’ll see a professional athlete make.

But the refs somehow let play continue and seconds later, with Acciari still down on the ice, the Blues made it 2-0.

It proved to be the game-winner as St. Louis held on to win 2-1 and now lead the series 3-2 heading back home for Game 6 on Sunday.
