Bruce Willis' wife Emma Hemming thanks fans for kind words as actor retires

Bruce Willis' wife Emma Heming has thanked fans for their support a day after a family announcement the legendary actor is retiring from the movie business.

Concerns were first raised about Willis' health several years ago and yesterday in a statement fears were confirmed that he's been diagnosed with aphasia, which affects cognitive abilities, and has lead to his retirement.

The 43-year-old model and actress turned her Insta story with the message to fans: "your love, support, compassion, prayers really help. I'm grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."

The Die Hard actor's exit from the film world was announced in a heartfelt message in a family statement on Wednesday.

"This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,' the statement continued.

'We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him,' they said.

As Bruce always says, “Live it up” and together we plan to do just that. Love, Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, & Evelyn,' they concluded.

Father-of-five Willis shares daughters Rumer, 33, Scout, 30, and Tallulah, 28, with Demi Moore, who he was married to from 1987 to 2000.

He also has two more daughters with Heming, Mabel Ray, 9, and Evelyn Penn, 8.

The actor has seen an incredible career and has failed to slow down despite his deteriorating health.

He filmed a staggering 21 movies since late 2019, including eight that are still awaiting release.

The announcement of his exit, although anticipated by insiders due to wide spread rumours, fans of the TV star turned movie legend have heaped praise on his incredible career.

Spanning four-decades, Willis’ movies have grossed over $5 billion worldwide.

And his talent's haven't gone unaccredited by the industry nominated for five Golden Globes (winning one for “Moonlighting”) and three Emmys (winning one for “Moonlighting” and another for his “Friends” guest role).
