Bruce Springsteen will be on the Late Late Show this week, host Ryan Tubridy confirms

Bruce Springsteen will appear on the Late Late Show on Friday night, host Ryan Tubridy has confirmed.

Ryan revealed the news on his RTE Radio One show this morning.

Bruce will release his latest album Letter to You on October 23, which has already received massive praise from critics.

Tubs added he was delighted to have him as a guest, saying: "He has such a huge Irish following."

Bruce said in a interview clip with RTE: "It's just a general letter to my listeners, friends, fans, lovers, partners, neighbours."

The 71-year-old has aged like a fine wine and continues to put out quality work.

Matthew McConaughey will be also appearing on this week's programme and will open up about how his father tragically died of a heart attack in bizarre circumstances.

The 50-year-old Oscar winning actor will speak with Ryan Tubridy about his prolific career, and going from a shirtless romantic comedy star to the toast of Hollywood at the Oscars.

American Matthew is preparing to unleash his memoirs after penning his upcoming book, Greenlights, which promises to give a detailed account of his life so far.

Matthew describes the heartbreaking moment his mother called him to break the news that his father has passed away.

He says in the RTE interview: "My dad always said to his sons 'boys, when I go, I'm going to be making love to your mother.'

"I get a call, August 17th, 1993, and it's my mom and she said 'your dad died this morning'.

"I said 'how?', she said 'well he woke up at six o'clock, felt a little frisky, and as soon as he climaxed, he had a heart attack and died.

"Goddamit Mom, I didn't think anyone in the world could have killed him except you. He called the shot and died while making love to Mom, what a way to go."

The actor is the son of late businessman James Donald McConaughey, who passed away in 1992, and former school teacher Mary Kathleen McConaughey (née McCabe).
