Bruce Springsteen show to be aired on BBC Radio 2

Singing star Bruce Springsteen is heading to Radio 2.

The singer-songwriter's US radio show, in which he plays records from his personal collection at his New Jersey home, has been picked up by the BBC.

Bruce Springsteen: From My Home To Yours has previously aired on SiriusXM channel E Street Radio in the US.

The announcement comes as the Radio 2 schedule returns to pre-pandemic timings.

From Monday, Sara Cox, Jo Whiley, Trevor Nelson and the weekday specialist music shows on Radio 2 will revert to their regular, pre-lockdown slots.

Cox returns to 5-7pm, Jo Whiley to 7-9pm, specialist music shows from 9-10pm and Trevor Nelson's Rhythm Nation from 10pm-midnight.

Helen Thomas, Radio 2 head of content commissioning, said it was "fantastic that next week we'll be getting back to a more familiar schedule".

She added: "I'd also say a huge thank you to the listeners for their company and support over these last few months - their positive feedback and wonderful messages to our shows has kept us all going."

Other shows include Mark Radcliffe hosting Radio 2's Virtual Folk Festival, while The Keith Urban Playlist returns with his selection of contemporary and classic music that "moved and inspired him" and Greg James will talk in depth to Radio 2 stalwart Bob Harris.

Springsteen's show will air from midnight to 1am on Saturday, July 25, and will also be on BBC Sounds.
