Bruce Allen says Redskins don’t need to draft QB

If you were to ask a handful of Washington Redskin’s fans what they would like the team to focus on in the draft, they’d most likely tell you that a QB would be a smart pick.

If you asked the same question to NFL Analysts, most would probably give you a similar answer — QB is the way to go.

Leave it to Team President Bruce Allen to forge his own path.

On Tuesday, Allen met with a group of media members at the NFL Owners meetings in Phoenix, and he repeatedly stated that the Redskins do not need to sign a young QB this year.

There is a talented crop of QB’s that are expected to go early in April’s draft, and the Redskins will likely need to trade up from their pick at No. 15 in order to draft one, but many think that is the right call to make.

If Washington goes this route, they will be able to groom their rookie signal caller while Case Keenum runs the offense and allows their draft pick to get settled into the system. It’s a strategy that many NFL teams have utilized in the past, and it has given us talents to the likes of Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes.

But, Allen is the Team President, and he makes the decisions. Looks like Keenum is the franchise QB that Washington has always hoped for. Good call dude.
