Bruce Allen denies Redskins had interest in Joe Flacco

Maybe Joe Flacco to the Washington Redskins wasn’t going to happen after all.

After Flacco got traded to the Denver Broncos, word broke that the Redskins had helped accelerate the trade because of their interest.

At the scouting combine, Allen shot down this idea:

To be fair to Allen, there isn’t a reason to outright admit they had an interest. And financially, Flacco on the Redskins would have been a tough fit.

Then again, Doug Williams let fly in an interview Thursday that the Redskins will consider quarterback in the first round.

Regardless, it seems clear the Redskins have at least thought about addressing the position, which is good news for that segment of fans that don’t believe Colt McCoy can be a viable starter next season.
