Browns WR corps just misses the top 5 in PFF’s rankings

Odell Beckahm Jr., Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Antonio Callaway and company are a formidable package of wide receivers. The Browns revamped corps is one of the best in the league on paper. Yet they could not quite crack the top five in the league in the Pro Football Focus ranking of all 32 NFL WR corps.

Cleveland crashed the top 10 party at No. 6 overall.

PFF is bullish on the changes, namely adding Beckham to the top of the depth chart. He’s been a metrics darling for years, and inserting him above Landry and the rest of the WRs lifts up the team’s overall profile and ranking.

The Cleveland Browns are out for blood, and their trade for Odell Beckham Jr. only further solidified their Super Bowl aspirations. He was PFF’s fifth-highest graded wideout (90.0) a season ago, and he joins a star-studded group. Antonio Callaway ranked fourth among rookie receivers in deep receiving yards (287) while Jarvis Landry, David Njoku and Rashard Higgins each earned grades north of 65.0.

The depth of the unit stands out, and the promise of even bigger things to come with Beckham and more growth from QB Baker Mayfield indicates the No. 6 ranking might be lowballing the Browns.
