Browns WR coach Adam Henry not worried about Antonio Callaway

A few days after offensive coordinator Todd Monken called out Antonio Callaway for reporting to Browns training camp out of shape, Cleveland WR coach Adam Henry admits he’s feeling better about his young player now.

Henry met with the media after Tuesday’s practice session and talked about Callaway’s progress. The second-year wideout had a strong day, making one contested catch and snagging a TD on a short laser from Drew Stanton in team drills. While Callaway is still working almost exclusively with the second-team offense, he’s showing flashes of the dynamic talent he was during his rookie season.

Henry has taken note and doesn’t see Callaway not being with the starters as anything to worry about.

“That is just creating depth,” Henry told reporters. “You want to see guys with the depth of the receiver group moving along. There are going to be times where now he is just getting a lot of the two reps, but it is a lot of reps. Just getting the reps and the communication of it.”

Henry concluded with an assured tone,

“I am not worried about Callaway. He will be fine.”

Expect to see a lot of Callaway against the Redskins on Thursday night in the preseason opener.
