Browns worked out Arkansas-Pine Bluff punter Jamie Gillan

Browns GM John Dorsey continues to beat every bush and turn over every rock in search of talent that might help the team. According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Dorsey had Arkansas-Pine Bluff punter Jamie Gillan in for a formal workout in the pre-draft process.

Gillan is known as the “Scottish Hammer”. A Scotsman by birth, his family emigrated to the U.S. when he was younger. Gillan attended high school in the same Maryland town that produced Dorsey himself. He averaged 42.5 yards per punt for UAPB last fall.

He’s a very good athlete for the position. Gillan’s pro day workout is among the best ever for a punter:

6-foot-1, 207 pounds

4.69 in the 40-yard dash

23 bench press reps

36.5-inch vertical

9-foot 8-inch broad jump

Gillan can also kick field goals (making 20 of 29 attempts in 2018) and has the video to prove his leg strength…
