Browns will use the bonus minicamp with new coach Freddie Kitchens

One of the ways the NFL tries to help teams that make head coaching changes is by allowing them an extra minicamp session for returning veterans to get better acquainted with the new staff. According to Browns coach Freddie Kitchens, the Browns will indeed take advantage of the bonus days of work.

Kitchens, who took over as head coach after being the interim offensive coordinator for the second half of 2018, was asked about the extra minicamp session during his media meeting in Arizona for the NFL owners meetings.

“Yes, we’re going to use it, and I don’t know the exact date on our calendar,” Kitchens stated. “It’s before the draft. It’s I think the week of the draft, actually.”

In typical playful Kitchens fashion, he added to the answer.

“I don’t know if we’re going to invite you guys, though,” Kitchens said with a smile, referring to the media gathered around him as he ate his breakfast.
