Browns will have a virtual visit with top OT prospect Tristan Wirfs

Draft prospects can’t travel to Berea to meet in person or work out for the Cleveland Browns, but the team is still finding ways to get to know potential draftees. And they’ll do just that with Iowa offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs.

Per Justin Melo of brother site Draft Wire, the Browns and Wirfs have set up a virtual meeting via FaceTime. The video chat app will allow Wirfs to show some personality and get to interview with the coaches without being there in person.

It’s a growing trend, an adaptation brought about by the NFL forcing teams to close their offices and with the widespread travel restrictions related to the coronavirus pandemic. Wirfs is the highest-profile player known to use the remote meeting with the Browns. The Hawkeye right tackle is a prodigious athlete and is one of the more popular projections for the Browns at the No. 10 overall pick.
