The Cleveland Browns made a roster move on the final Monday of the preseason schedule. The Browns announced they have released rookie CB Jhavonte Dean from the roster.
Dean was an undrafted rookie from Miami, where he played collegiately with fourth-round defensive back Sheldrick Redwine. He played sparingly in the preseason, earning just 20 snaps. In seven defensive reps against the Buccaneers, Dean managed to miss a tackle in run defense and allow a completion which surrendered a first down.
Because the team faces a cutdown from 90 to 53 players by Saturday at 4 p.m., Dean has not been replaced on the roster.
