Browns Vs Steelers: First injury report of Week 8

The Cleveland Browns face off with the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 8 of the NFL season. Neither team has a losing record but the loser this week will fall to the basement of the AFC North.

For the Browns, injuries continue to be the story. Baker Mayfield is fighting to play this week. Jack Conklin and Nick Chubb are likely to be back.

The Steelers have had some injury concerns of their own this season and have a few important pieces that we will monitor as the week goes on.

The first injury report of Week 8 continues to be quite long for the Browns.

  • DE Jadeveon Clowney – Ankle, groin, knee
  • DT Malik Jackson – Ankle

  • WR Donovan Peoples-Jones – Groin
  • CB Denzel Ward – Hamstring

For the visiting Steelers, the list is much shorter. Every player participated in practice but there were limited:

  • LB Melvin Ingram III – Groin
  • QB Ben Roethlisberger – Pectoral, hip

Zach Banner (knee) and Anthony McFarland (knee) were listed but as full participants.

We will closely monitor the injury list this week as Mayfield, Chubb, Conklin, Ward and other starters all could be vital to the outcome of the first Cleveland versus Pittsburgh matchup since the Browns beat the Steelers in the playoffs in 2020.
