It’s not a surprise to see the Browns make it into Sports Illustrated’s list of the five most combustible NFL teams for 2019. Adding volatile WR Odell Beckham Jr. to a mix that already includes fiery QB Baker Mayfield and several other young stars, coached by a rookie head man in Freddie Kitchens, makes Cleveland a no-brainer for this sort of list.
The Browns join the Cowboys, Giants, Jets and Raiders on the list from analyst Connor Orr.
There’s a key line at the end of the brief analysis in the Browns section,
“…given that 7-9 or 8-8 would be a massive disappointment for this assembly of talent.”
For a team that hasn’t topped 7 wins in a season in over a decade, the bar is set really high if finishing 8-8 is to be considered a massive disappointment.
