Browns sign WR Braxton Miller, waive TE Mik’Quan Deane

The newest member of the Cleveland Browns is a familiar name and face for fans in Ohio. Former Ohio State QB-turned-WR Braxton Miller signed with the Browns on Wednesday.

Miller spent the 2018 season on the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad after washing out from the Houston Texans. In two seasons (nine starts) with the Texans, the 2016 third-round pick struggled with injuries and finding a defined role in the offense. Miller caught 19 passes for 162 yards and a TD in 2017. He saw limited duty as a return specialist as well.

Miller missed seven full games and parts of several others with a series of injuries during his time in Houston. The maladies hindered his progress at switching from college QB to NFL slot receiver.

To make room for Miller on the roster, the Browns waived TE Mik’Quan Deane from the non-football injury list
