Browns sign Iowa State LB Willie Harvey after rookie minicamp tryout

One of the players who participated in the Browns rookie minicamp over the weekend has signed with the team. Linebacker Willie Harvey Jr. from Iowa State tweeted out a picture of himself signing a contract with the Browns on Sunday night.

Harvey went undrafted but agreed to a tryout deal with the Browns to attend the minicamp. It appears the Browns like what they saw from 6-foot, 224-pound outside backer from the emerging Cyclones program. He is a native of Miami, Florida.

Harvey finished with 76 total tackles and 9 TFLs in his senior season and played his way into the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl after the season. He was remarkably consistent on the tackling front, posting seasons of 76, 76 and 78 in his three years as a full-time starter.

The Browns have not made the move official as of yet.
