The Cleveland Browns have added some competition and depth to the offensive tackle position in free agency. Kendall Lamm is the newest Brown, signing a 2-year contract worth as much as $7 million to join Cleveland from the Houston Texans.
Lamm has starting experience in Houston at both left and right tackle, his primary home in 2018.
If you’re thinking, “that Texans offensive line wasn’t very good”, you would be correct. Lamm fared better at right tackle than he did on the left but still had some struggles with handling pass rushers with more than one move.
He’s progressed from being an undrafted free agent from Appalachian State back in 2015 and spending most of his first two years on the practice squad and bench. If he can keep climbing off his more impressive 2018 stint, the Browns have some fresh competition for Greg Robinson and Chris Hubbard at the tackle positions. At worst, Lamm is a swing reserve tackle with NFL and playoff experience on both sides.
