Browns sign 3 after tryouts during rookie minicamp

On the heels of the team’s rookie minicamp, the Cleveland Browns signed three undrafted rookie free agents who participated on a tryout basis.

The Browns confirmed signing three players:

  • CB Jhavonte Dean
  • RB Trayone Gray
  • LB Willie Harvey

Harvey tweeted out his success on Sunday night.

Dean and Gray are both products of the Miami Hurricanes program, which now represents 10 percent of the 90-man roster. Harvey went to Iowa State but is a native of Miami.

Dean fits the Browns profile of a long, light (he’s 6-1/185) outside CB with ball skills. Gray brings the thunder as a 233-pound interior runner. Harvey fits the role of off-ball outside linebacker with blitzing and coverage skills.

To make room for the newcomers, the Browns waived RB Darrin Hall, CB Ashton Lampkin and LB Xavier Woodson-Luster.
