Browns select Alabama LB Mack Wilson with pick No. 155

The Cleveland Browns selected Alabama LB Mack Wilson in the 5th round with the 155th selection in the 2019 NFL Draft.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler had Wilson as his #3 LB in this class, noting his range in coverage and comfort covering crossing or vertical routes. Brugler also mentioned that Wilson’s inconsistent finishing, along with his better coverage athleticism rather than instincts at this time.

The Draft Network’s Kyle Crabbs also had Wilson rated as his #3 LB in the class. Crabbs compared the Alabama LB to former Ohio State LB James Laurinaitis. Crabbs echoed Brugler’s comments, saying that he has a “terrific ceiling,” but “having only started 17 games and the consistency is a concern.”
