Browns release OL Kyle Friend

Adding players in the draft means an unfortunate reality for players currently at the bottom of the roster. The new additions need space, and the team has to make it by releasing veterans on the bubble.

That’s what happened to Kyle Friend. The Browns parted ways with the reserve offensive guard/center on Monday. Friend spent time with the Browns on the practice squad in 2018 and then signed a future contract with the team following the season.

He’s bounced around several teams since coming out of Temple in 2016. Friend was ostensibly replaced by sixth-round pick Drew Forbes, a tackle from Southeast Missouri State who projects to kick inside in the NFL.
