Browns RB Kareem Hunt declares, ‘This one’s for Myles’

You can’t think about a matchup between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers without thinking about what happened last season. In the Steelers first game of the season against the Browns in 2019, an ugly melee broke out with only eight seconds left that culminated in Browns defensive end Myles Garrett assaulting Steelers quarterback Mason Rudolph with his own helmet.

According to Browns running back Kareem Hunt, they are using this event as something of a rallying cry in support of Garrett.

“This one’s for Myles,” Hunt said. “This one’s for Cleveland. This one’s for a lot of things. We have Myles’ back and he has ours.”

Ignoring the fact that Hunt is probably the last person who should be the voice of what is right and good in the world, the notion of portraying Garrett as some sort of victim in any of what happened last season is asinine.

It wasn’t enough how egregious Garrett’s actions on the field were but his blatant attempt to falsely inject a racial component into it after the effect to try and slander Rudolph was even worse.

Thankfully on the Steelers side, this is a non-issue. When head coach Mike Tomlin was asked about it, he responded exactly the way you would expect from a coach of his caliber.
