Browns practice notes roundup for Day 6 of training camp

Wednesday was the last day of July but the first day of the second week of Cleveland Browns training camp. On a sunny morning in Berea, the Browns players took the field in front of a good crowd that included several members of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Here are some notes from the practice from around social media feeds.

Injury update

Tight end Seth DeValve missed the practice due to being in the concussion protocol. He practiced on Monday and any injury was not apparent then. Defensive end Olivier Vernon sat out another session with a hamstring injury. It is not considered serious.

They joined a group of holdover injuries that includes RBs Duke Johnson, Trayone Gray and Kareem Hunt and CB Donnie Lewis.

JC Tretter continues to be an ironman

The Browns starting center played most of last season with a high ankle sprain. He did not miss a snap, and it didn’t seem to bother his performance too much; Tretter was one of the league’s best and most consistent players in the pivot in his first year in Cleveland.

Tretter got his ankle rolled up in a rep on Wednesday. True to his ironman nature, Tretter got the ankle taped and was right back in action.

The kicking was better

Both Austin Seibert and Greg Joseph made all five of their field goal attempts, a stark improvement. Seibert was under 50 percent for camp in team drill kicks leading into the day.

Joseph has been steadier and has shown a little bit more boom to his kicks.

Sheldrick Redwine makes a play

The fourth-round rookie made a great interception on Drew Stanton late in practice. Redwine has shown some sizzle and now has a little steak to go with it.

The play technically did not count because someone jumped offsides. The defense jumping was a common theme, unfortunately.
