Browns open 2019 season as favorites over Titans

Now that the preseason has come and gone, the Tennessee Titans are set to prepare for their first meaningful game of 2019.

This team is no stranger to being the underdog, and that’s exactly what they’re opening as in Week 1’s road matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns are listed as favorites by a point spread of (-5.5) as they kick off their season at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Cleveland has had some down seasons in recent years, but has historically had more success in this particular contest. The Browns currently lead the all time series, which stands at 35-31-0.

The Titans have won the past two games against the Browns, recording a 12-9 overtime road win in 2017, and a 28-26 victory in Nissan Stadium back in 2016.

Despite the the Titans’ recent successes over the Browns, it’s still reasonable for sports bettors to be hesitant to put their money on the team.

The preseason may not hold a lot of meaning, but it did highlight glaring problems within the offensive line. Less than a week before they face Cleveland, Tennessee is still making major changes to the o-line, which could see struggles in the first game of the season.

The Browns look to be much-improved on both sides of the ball, and seem to have found their quarterback in Baker Mayfield.

It will be interesting to see how things shake out and who ultimately comes out on top when the two teams kick off at 12:00 p.m. CT on Sunday.
