Browns on Gerald McCoy’s short list of destinations, will visit this week

Earlier this week, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and defensive tackle Gerald McCoy mutually agreed to part ways, making McCoy a free agent.

Over the last few weeks, McCoy has been rumored to be a potential fit for the Cleveland Browns, according to ESPN. General manager John Dorsey told reporters this afternoon that McCoy will visit the Browns on Friday.

A report from Cleveland.com has McCoy declaring the Browns to be on his short list of teams he is interested in joining. The Ravens are also reportedly on the list.

McCoy, who is 31 years old, is a six-time Pro Bowler and was first-team All-Pro in 2013. The Browns could see him as a possible depth piece with obvious upside. McCoy’s ability to be an interior pass rusher is one reason why Cleveland is attracted to him.
