Browns mentioned in the running for free agent LB C.J. Mosley

It’s a vague, decidedly nonspecific link, but a Baltimore-based reporter included the Browns among the “most connected” teams to former Ravens LB C.J. Mosley. Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic listed the Browns first among the New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts and also Mosley staying with the Ravens.

Other teams are also involved, so it’s probably too early to get more than a little hope that the Browns will land the 26-year-old Mosley. He’d certainly provide a big lift to the linebacking corps if he does wind up in Cleveland.

Mosley has made the Pro Bowl in four of his five NFL seasons and is generally regarded as one of the best tacklers in the league. He is an off-ball linebacker with more career INTs (9) than sacks (8.5), and the Alabama product can line up inside or outside in multiple fronts.
