Browns long snapper Charley Hughlett placed on reserve/COVID-19 list

Even at the start of a much-needed bye week, the Cleveland Browns continue to take hits to the roster. On Monday, the Browns placed long snapper Charley Hughlett on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Practice squad running back Johnny Stanton was also placed on that unit’s version of the COVID-19 list as well.

Per the NFL’s transaction wire, Hughlett did test positive for COVID-19. His vaccination status is unknown. The same is true of Stanton, who has also spent some time on the active roster this year.

With the Browns on a bye, Hughlett’s positive test has the potential to not impact the team. The veteran has been the team’s exclusive long snapper since the start of the 2015 season.
