Browns injury report: entire starting secondary out again on Friday

The Cleveland Browns secondary will look a lot different than expected when the Los Angeles Rams visit FirstEnergy Stadium on Sunday. The injury bug has bitten the Browns defensive backfield hard. Both starting safeties and the two starting outside CBs missed Friday’s practice.

Starting cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams were both working with trainers on the side during Friday’s session. Ward and Williams are nursing hamstring injuries. They have been officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

At safety, Damarious Randall will not play versus the Rams. He has been ruled out with a concussion and will miss his second consecutive game. Fellow starter Morgan Burnett is questionable with a quad injury and did not practice all week.

Jermaine Whitehead, the third safety who plays starter reps, is healthy. So is CB Terrance Mitchell, a starter last season. Veteran Eric Murray can play any spot and figures to see extensive action, too.
