There’s adding insult to injury, and then there’s adding injury to injury. The Cleveland Browns are doing the latter and can’t appear to stop, unfortunately.
Thursday’s practice session added two more prominent names to what was already a lengthy list of players on the injury report. Starting cornerbacks Denzel Ward and Greedy Williams were both limited in practice with hamstring issues. Neither CB was on Wednesday’s report.
They bring the total to 16 Browns on the official injury list. That’s more than a third of the active roster for Sunday’s game with the visiting Los Angeles Rams. It includes the entire starting secondary after adding Ward and Williams.
To put the injuries in perspective, the Philadelphia Eagles canceled their Wednesday practice because of a lack of healthy bodies and a desire to preserve them for their game Sunday. The Eagles have “only” 13 players listed on their injury list.
