Browns hosted Toledo WR Jon’Vea Johnson for official prospect visit

The Toledo Rockets have provided a solid pipeline of NFL players in recent seasons, including new Browns RB Kareem Hunt. Could a fellow Rocket join Hunt on the Cleveland offense in the 2019 NFL Draft?

Perhaps so. Per a report from NFL.com’s Chase Goodbread and confirmed by other sources, Toledo wide receiver Jon’Vea Johnson had an official “top 30” visit with the Browns.

Jon’Vea was the vertical threat in the offense of the two Rocket WRs named Johnson the last couple of seasons. Diontae Johnson caught more passes but it was the wiry (6-0/188) Jon’Vea who averaged over 20 yards per catch in 2019. Speed is his calling card; Johnson ran a 4.35 40 at Toledo’s pro day, which the Browns attended.
