Browns get bad news on Kareem Hunt’s suspension

The NFL has finally made its long-awaited decision on whether Browns running back Kareem Hunt will be allowed to work out with the team and use the facilities during his eight-game suspension to start the season. It is not good news for the Browns or Hunt.

Hunt will be banned by the league from doing anything with the Browns or showing up at the team’s training facility and headquarters in Berea for eight weeks beginning this Saturday. The Browns were hopeful Hunt would get an exception, but that did not happen.

Coach Freddie Kitchens was asked about the league’s decision during his press conference on Tuesday, but he deferred the answer to the NFL.

There is a bright side. The league did allow wide receiver Antonio Callaway to have access to the facilities during his four-game suspension to start the year. Callaway is rehabbing from an injury, and the NFL decided that was enough of a reason to permit his presence.
