Browns final preseason depth chart highlights position battles to watch

The Cleveland Browns produced the latest unofficial depth chart in advance of the preseason finale against the Detroit Lions (Thurs. 7:30 p.m.). With most of the starters set, the backups and roster battles take center stage.

One of the most pressing battles comes at wide receiver. With Jaelen Strong (still listed here) now out of the picture, Damion Ratley moves up to his spot on the No. 2 line. Newcomer Braxton Miller remains behind Ishmael Hyman and Derrick Willies, with his one chance to impress in game action coming against Detroit.

At left guard, Bryan Witzmann is listed as the back up to Joel Bitonio. He’s ahead of rookie Drew Forbes, which does not match the lineup from the prior preseason games or practice reps. Witzmann is generally not projected to make the 53-man roster, while Forbes has played his way onto the Browns.

Defensively, Carl Davis and Trevon Coley are listed as the top reserves at tackle. However, Devaroe Lawrence and Daniel Ekuale have both taken No. 2 reps this preseason. Lawrence has consistently been ahead of Davis and Coley and appears to have a roster spot cemented.

Greg Joseph remains on the starter line at kicker, even though reports are out that coach Freddie Kitchens has already chosen rookie Austin Seibert as the kicker after his 4-for-4 FG performance in Tampa Bay last week.
