Browns fans seriously booed the team off the field at halftime of Week 1

For the first time since, well, ever, the Cleveland Browns entered an NFL season with Super Bowl hype. Baker Mayfield was coming off a historic rookie season, and the team added Odell Beckham Jr. The hype was REAL.

With that kind of talent, you can’t really blame Browns fans for buying into the hype. But that honeymoon period lasted, oh, just about 30 minutes of game action.

Sunday’s season opener against the Titans got off to a lackluster start with Cleveland heading into the locker room down, 12-6, at halftime. That was apparently enough to warrant a chorus of boos as the Browns left the field.

That’s Philly-level impatience right there.

Sure, Browns fans were expecting a far better performance, but it was just the first half of the first game. The team was down one score. It wasn’t like the Titans came into Cleveland and put up 30 points in the first half.

But when you believe your own hype to that extent, the reality of a 12-6 halftime deficit can be awfully disappointing.
