With the No. 80 overall pick in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns selected Sione Takitaki, an off-ball linebacker from BYU.
Takitaki’s profile rose over the workout season after he thoroughly impressed at the Shrine Game practices and then the Senior Bowl.
He led the Cougars with 118 total tackles in 2018. That includes 9 TFLs and 3 sacks from his inside backer position. He notched 12.5 TFLs and 5 sacks a year earlier. At 6-1 and 238 pounds, he projects as an inside LB or perhaps in the old Jamie Collins role in Cleveland.
